William P. Nickolai is a member of Bakke-Norman’s Municipal, Transactional and Tax teams. He is a graduate of Marquette University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with majors in History and Political Science. He then earned his Juris Doctor Degree form the American University in Washington, D.C. Bill also has an LLM in Tax Law from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.
Bill brings many years of experience working in the public sector to the firm. He began his legal career working in the Kenosha County Wisconsin Corporation Counsel’s Office. While at the county, Bill developed an expertise in public sector collective bargaining. He also handled a wide variety of civil litigation matters. After eight years, he left Kenosha County to work for Gateway Technical College. At Gateway Bill was the Executive Vice President and General Counsel. He continued to handle collective bargaining matters and developed an expertise in educational law over the 18 year period he was with the College. He also served as the Interim president of the College for a 2 ½ year period. Prior to coming to Bakke-Norman, Bill was in private practice and worked for UBS a global financial firm.
Bill works out of the Baldwin, Wisconsin office. Bill is married and has three grown children. When not at the office, he likes to spend time with his family and likes to hike, bike and work in the yard
